  why there are so many reasons why there's no reason for everything?

  i mean if there's a reason for no reason then shouldn't the reason itself be a no reason at all?

  how reasonable is it to be in a no reasoning zone?.

  i had a great turning of the tables when i was 22. the con.

  went out to a park for picnics, softball, that sort of thing.

  Years ago in one of the local congs, a young brother organized an outing to see a show at the theatre. Many went along, including elders and their families. At some point in the show there was some unsavory language and sexual innuendo, but nothing to strong. The WT the next day was talking about unwholsome entertainment, one of the elders that had attended the night before(idiot) stuck his hand up and said how unexpected and unpleasant it was for the group last night and that any brother organizing such events would need to show discernment.

  Following the comment, the young brother(organizer of event) puts his hand up and says "if last night was so bad then why didn't the elders take the lead in walking out". Silence followed for a while !

  Why DO Horrible Things Happen, Anyway?

  the insane things that occur to people who just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time is scary and creepy to me.

  a little girl is holding her teddy bear and as a coincidence is tragically on that same street when a bunch of gang-bangers decide to stage a gun fight because someone looked cross-eyed at one of their girl friends (you mamy insert any other bullshit reason here), so they start shooting and the little girl is shot and killed because she is innocently in their cross-fire.

  when captured and arrested, the gang-bangers says they are "sorry" for snuffing out the life of that little girl.

  Obviously, you don't know much about me! I could have any dub, MS, PO, DO or GB member drooling all over themselves in a few minutes. I am one of the worst, if not THE worst apostates-from-hell, with the knowledge and logic and words to make any dub wish they never came anywhere near me. I don't do many things well, but one of the things I'm pretty darn good at doing is destroying WT doctrine myths, fallacies and reducing crusading dubs into crybabies who are cornered without any arguments left to hurl back except personal insul

  And your motive in doing that, would it be for the good of the person or for personal satisfaction?

  Questions re the above:
  God has since long ago used prophets to direct/ guide people, tell of future events, convey his will... etc . So he used a “human channel”.
  Jesus also explained Gods will to his followers directly – this was obviously passed on through generations.

  If JW’s are not that channel today (imperfect though it would be), then who? Is there such a channel? Or has everything that needs explaining already been explained in the scriptures by ancient prophets / earthly channel?

  Have not Jehovah’s Witnesses made errors in their teachings?
  Jehovah’s Witnesses do not claim to be inspired prophets. They have made mistakes. Like the apostles of Jesus Christ, they have at times had some wrong expectations.—Luke 19:11; Acts 1:6.
  The Scriptures provide time elements related to Christ’s presence, and Jehovah’s Witnesses have studied these with keen interest. (Luke 21:24; Dan. 4:10-17) Jesus also described a many-featured sign that would tie in with the fulfillment of time prophecies to identify the generation that would live to see the end of Satan’s wicked system of things. (Luke 21:7-36) Jehovah’s Witnesses have pointed to evidence in fulfillment of this sign. It is true that the Witnesses have made mistakes in their understanding of what would occur at the end of certain time periods, but they have not made the mistake of losing faith or ceasing to be watchful as to fulfillment of Jehovah’s purposes. They have continued to keep to the fore in their thinking the counsel given by Jesus: “Keep on the watch, therefore, because you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.”—Matt. 24:42.
  Matters on which corrections of viewpoint have been needed have been relatively minor when compared with the vital Bible truths that they have discerned and publicized. Among these are the following: Jehovah is the only true God. Jesus Christ is not part of a Trinitarian godhead but is the only-begotten Son of God. Redemption from sin is possible only through faith in Christ’s ransom sacrifice. The holy spirit is not a person but is Jehovah’s active force, and its fruitage must be evident in the lives of true worshipers. The human soul is not immortal, as the ancient pagans claimed; it dies, and the hope for future life is in the resurrection. God’s permission of wickedness has been because of the issue of universal sovereignty. God’s Kingdom is the only hope for mankind. Since 1914 we have been living in the last days of the global wicked system of things. Only 144,000 faithful Christians will be kings and priests with Christ in heaven, whereas the rest of obedient mankind will receive eternal life on a paradise earth.
  Another factor to consider regarding the teachings of Jehovah’s Witnesses is this: Have these truly uplifted people morally? Are those who adhere to these teachings outstanding in their communities because of their honesty? Is their family life beneficially influenced by applying these teachings? Jesus said that his disciples would be readily identified because of having love among themselves. (John 13:35) Is this quality outstanding among Jehovah’s Witnesses? We let the facts speak for themselves.

  Meeting topics that cover sex

  occassionally the mr will say that "some visitors are shocked because we will talk about sex, even with children in attendance.

  " what exactly are they talking about in these meetings.

  things like "don't masturbate" or things like if you position yourself like this, and your woman like this while having sex, then you're fornicating?.

  I know of Elders that refuse point blank to give talks on these matters. You can't tar every Elder with the same brush.

  no more lurking...hello eveyone

  about a year ago i went through a mild meltdown.

  it hit me fast i had panic attacks and became angry with all the control in my life.

  (being a jw) i had just found out i was being screwed on a real estate development project by another self righteous jw i have known for a long time but this was a big loss (about 4 months pay plus expenses).

  according to the details posted by ynot the brazen conduct wording is explained this way:.

  you will note in chapter 5, paragraph 9, of the shepherding textbook that a change in terminology is being introduced.

  a new term, "brazen conduct," will be used in addition to " loose conduct," or in some cases instead of "loose conduct.

  Loose conduct (Greek, a?sel′gei?a) denotes “licentiousness; wantonness; shameless conduct; lewdness of conduct.” The New Thayer’s Greek-English Lexicon defines the Greek term as “unbridled lust, . . . outrageousness, shamelessness, insolence.” According to another lexicon, loose conduct is a form of behavior that “violates all bounds of what is socially acceptable.”
  As the foregoing definitions show, “loose conduct” involves two elements: (1) The conduct itself is a serious violation of God’s laws, and (2) the attitude of the wrongdoer is disrespectful, insolent.
  Therefore, “loose conduct” does not refer to bad conduct of a minor nature. It pertains to acts that are serious violations of God’s laws and that reflect a brazen or boldly contemptuous attitude—a spirit that betrays disrespect or even contempt for authority, laws, and standards. Paul links loose conduct with illicit intercourse. (Romans 13:13, 14) Since Galatians 5:19-21 lists loose conduct among a number of sinful practices that would disqualify one from inheriting God’s Kingdom, loose conduct is grounds for reproof and possible disfellowshipping from the Christian congregation.

  Brazen - boldness without shame would link to many of the words denoted by the phrase "loose conduct".

  Some of you know that I have recently begun to question things that I have been taught for many years. Since, I have embarked on a personal study programme that is going to be immense for me. This study is really doing my nut in! I am eating, drinking and sleeping it. I think about things at home, work, meetings and on the min. It is all encompassing and I feel like my brain is gonna explode.

  Anybody else experience this?
